Know where each detail came from.
Every sale comes from the sheriff’s, clerk’s or commissioner’s own sale list, read again every night. Repeat listings are merged on the court case, and every status the sheriff posts is kept. We are not a sheriff’s office, a court, an auction platform or a brokerage.

Common questions
SheriffSaleData is a register of 15,009 sheriff sales in 263 US counties, read nightly from the sheriffs’ own sale lists.
What is a sheriff sale?
A sheriff sale is a public auction at which the county sheriff sells real property under a court order, most often to satisfy a mortgage foreclosure judgment. In states where foreclosure goes through the courts, the lender sues, wins a judgment, and the court orders the property sold; the sheriff (or a clerk or master commissioner in some states) advertises the sale and auctions it to the highest bidder.
Where does SheriffSaleData get its data?
From the sale lists the sheriffs, clerks and master commissioners publish themselves, read every night across 18 states. We hold 21,487 sale records describing 15,009 sales in 263 counties.
Why do sheriff sales get postponed so often?
Because either side can stop the clock. A homeowner can file for bankruptcy, pay off the judgment or ask for an adjournment; a lender often adjourns its own sale while it reviews a loan modification or a short sale. 2,114 of the upcoming sales we hold have been postponed at least once, and every record keeps the sheriff's dates so you can see how often.
What does SheriffSaleData cost?
Pro is $49 a month after a 3-day free trial: the full record on every sale in every state, with the sheriff's postponement history, alerts the morning after a sale is listed, sorting by opening bid, CSV export and the data API. A Starter plan ($15 a week, the same records without export) and a high-volume Business plan ($99) are also available; CSV export and the data API come with Pro and Business, from the first payment. Every page's counts, and the address and date of its soonest five sales, stay public without an account.
Which states are covered?
Sheriff and court-ordered foreclosure sales in Pennsylvania, Florida, New Jersey, Illinois, Louisiana, Ohio, Delaware, Kentucky, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, Oklahoma, Washington, Kansas, Oregon, Colorado, Idaho and Texas, with more counties added as their sheriffs' lists are brought in. Each state has its own page, county by county.
Where can I find trustee sales and tax sales?
On our sister sites. In states where a lender forecloses a deed of trust without a court, the trustee holds the sale, and TrusteeSaleData lists those. Auctions of property for unpaid property tax are on TaxSalesFeed. SheriffSaleData lists the court-ordered sales: sheriff, clerk and master commissioner auctions.
Can a scheduled sale change?
Yes, often, up to the moment it is held: postponed, stayed by a bankruptcy filing, or cancelled when the judgment is paid. We read every list again each night, so the record shows the sheriff's latest status, but confirm with the sheriff's office on the morning of the sale.
What a plan opens
The address is free. The judgment is not.
Every page shows its counts, and the address and date of its soonest five sales. A plan opens all 15,009 sales, with the opening bid, the judgment, the plaintiff and its attorney, the defendant and the court case, and on Pro every postponement the sheriff posted.
$0 today: 3 days free, then $49 a month for Pro. A reminder email comes before the trial ends. See pricing.
